How would you like to holiday in a rustic log cabin or a luxury caravan on a small working farm in the rural province of Alentejo? Halfway between Ourique and Odemira, the feminine shape of Aldeia das Amoreiras’ hills will seduce you. Our place is just an hour’s drive from the famous Algarve and from the stunning west coast resort of Vila Nova de Milfontes.

A car is essential for this holidays but they are cheap to rent. The area is excellent for walking, painting or photography as it is excellent unspoilt countryside.

The log cabin is situated on the top of a small hill giving stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, a ground floor bedroom, a loft double double bedroom serviced by a staircase. There is a lounge area with a double bed-settee,  TV and log burning stove (wood is provided free). The Bathroom is a separate building and boasts all mod cons. Nearby is a smaller log cabin which can be used as an extra bedroom (children’s) or for evening use whilst using the large BBQ area.

You may use the large swimming pool at anytime during your stay.

It is a 15 minutes walk to the village center where there is a bar that serves excellent food. And a social center where you can get handy helps like free Internet. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and will make your holiday a very memorable one.

The farm is a small working farm which, at present boasts pigs, ducks, guinea fowl, chickens, turkeys, lambs and tortoises (some of which are giant!), all of them bred free range. For those of you that have an interest in tortoises we offer husbandry advice as we have bred and kept toroises for the last 35 years, we are well known and respected in the tortoise world and we have appeared on English TV. During season there will be a variety of fresh organic vegetables which you are welcome to pick as you require them. We also sell our own produced meat, eggs and olive oil. On arrival you can expect to find a welcome pack containing 6 organic freshly laid eggs, a small pot of honey and a small bottle of our own organic olive oil. You are more than welcome to purchase more of these things during your stay as you wish.

We live in the farm and we can offer a variety of trips and fun things to enhance your holiday:

– Full English Breakfasts 3.50 euro per person.

– BBQ trips to the mountains and lakes for 7 euro per person.

– ATV* or trips to local restaurant and bars.

*if you are not sure what an ATV is, just look for POLARIS RANGER on Internet!

– We have a small boat and offer fishing trips to the local lakes for 5 euro per person

We are just husband and wife team, there are no timeshares or holiday reps to hassle you.

The Caravan is closer from the fertile camp side and also thirty seconds away from the swimming pool.

There is shadow, outdoor cleaning place, bathroom inside but also next to the caravan, and a large green area where you can camp either with caravan or tent.

The caravan is a luxuary six berth but for extra comfort four are recommended.
